3 American Boys in Singles Quarterfinals; Orange Bowl Day 4 Recap

All 15 years of age, Michael Mmoh, Francis Tiafoe and Stefan Kozlov are into the quarterfinals of the Metropolia Orange Bowl in Plantation, Florida. Francis Taifoe had the match of his life and took out Italian Filippo Baldi 6-0, 6-3. Tiafoe will play Roman Safuillin (RUS), who beat Tiafoe in the finals of the International Spring Championships 16u final. They have also trained briefly in Maryland together at Tiafoe's home academy. Stefan Kozlov also easily advanced over Weigiang Zheng (CHN) 6-2, 6-2. Kozlov will play Naoki Nakagawa (JPN), who got revenge over Eddie Herr champ Kamil Majchrzak (POL), avenging a semifinal loss as he won 6-3, 6-2. Michael Mmoh will play the 2nd seed from France, Johan Taltot in the quarterfinals. In the last quarterfinal, doubles partners Andrey Rublev (RUS) and top seed Alexander Zverev (GER) will play each other.

In doubles, the Eddie Herr champions Filippo Baldi (ITA) and Lucas Miedler (AUT) are already into the semifinals after a 2nd round win against Catalin Mateas (USA) and Aron Hiltzik (USA), and then a walkover from Tommy Paul (USA) and Jordi Arconadi (ARG). The American team of Stefan Kozlov and Henrik Wiersholm will take on the top seeded team of Zverev and Rublev. Also, the ITF Pan American Champions Francis Taifoe and Michael Mmoh are into the quarterfinals against Hubert Hurkacz (POL) and Marko Osmakcic (SUI). The other quarterfinal paring is the British team of Julian Cash/Alexander Sendegaya and Roman Safuillin (RUS)/Nino Sedarusic (CRO).
