Baldi/Miedler Win Doubles Title; Eddie Herr Day 6 Recap

I'm currently watching my Ohio State Buckeyes try to clinch a spot in the BCS National Championship game, but here is my daily recap. The day on the grounds of IMG Bollettieri Academy started with the 2nd seeded team of Filippo Baldi (ITA) and Lucas Miedler (AUT) taking out American Stefan Kozlov and partner Omar Jasika (AUS) in 3 sets, 6-3, 6-7, 10-5. This is this team's first championship since winning the European Championships this summer. In the singles, American Deiton Baughman barely came up short of continuing his phenomenal run as he lost to Russian Andrey Rublev 6-7, 7-6, 6-2. Rublev hasn't lost a match in singles since losing in the Kazan Challenger first round in October. On the top half of the draw, IMG Bollettieri student Naoki Nakagawa couldn't continue his run either, as Kamil Majchrzak (POL) topped him 6-4, 6-3. Majchrzak has not dropped a set yet this week (in singles) and Rublev has been more vulnerable as he dropped 3 sets so far this week (in singles). Whoever comes out on top Sunday will have the momentum going into the Orange Bowl next week in Plantation, Florida.

I also watched a little bit of the 16 singles today, in the match between Yunseong Chung (KOR) and Ben Fatael (ISR). Fatael seemed controlling of more points, but just did not have the consistency to get past the top seeded Chung.
