Under the Waning Moon

Under the midnight sky with the moon waning,
and right beneath the tree taking cover from the recent raining.
The mischievous was heard giving his howl,
To alert all of his prey that he was on the prowl.
The venomous snake kept on slithering about,
staying low to the ground and away from the paramount.
The owl sat in the tree giving its cah coo cah coo,
Then he saw the mice on the ground and yelled boo.
The bat flapped its wings and spun all around,
Until accidentally hitting a tree and falling to the ground.
The grasshopper kept on doing his usual hop,
until the neighbor's dog came over and stepped on top.
The turtle in the driveway really had no chance,
as the car pulled away in a hurry to the dance.
Nature keeps spinning and then it keeps dying,
but until the waning moon goes black you just got to keep trying.
